ah hem, to start off, first, a special request by Isaac the man himself.

Yesterday at training, coach made us run 2.4 instead of our usual warm up (120m 12 times). Coach said we had to make it below 9min. And only ONE person made it, guess who? Our captain, if not captain-to-be, Isaac!!! 8.50 min ! shocking??? shocking. So lets give a round of applause to Isaac *clapclapclap* lol. there you have it,isaac...

Ok Ok. serious stuff now.

Ever wondered or even heard of how or when doomsday is gonna be like? We are all becoming more aware of the fact that our earth is going into a crisis of facing global warming. and that we are making earth a better place to live in. But, what if the earth didn't die of global warming?

Yesterday, i watched this documentary on youtube. "Mayans Doomsday Prophecy".

As the title suggests, the mayans predicted doomsday. To cut the whole story short:

Long Long Ago, somewhere in central america, lived the mayans! they were very very very VERY obssessed with time and studied it alot. Unlike us,who perceive time as one straight line, and that it's always moving forward, whateva time lost will not be returned ; the mayans perceive time as a cycle, that things,events will always repeat itself again n again.

The man who started it all was this god-like figure, or what they refer too as "bearded white man", rose from the sea one day. He taught the mayans about time and astrology. The Mayans eventually created this huge calendar, based on past events. it could predict anything, the solar eclipse, the lunar eclipse, etc. the calendar was so accurate, it even predicted events that happened in the distant future, like now. it predicted world war 1 and 2, president lincoln dying, 911 etc.

One day, the "bearded white man" had to leave, and returned to the sea. but he told the mayans that he'll return some day. but he never did...One day, the spanish, led by cortez came to central america by sea, on ships. The mayans mistook cortez for the "bearded white man" and welcomed him. But the spanish killed the mayans, and burnt all their hyroglyphics(sp?) scripts. Fortunately, some prists managed to preserve some. and they spoke of doomsday.

the mayans were so obsessed with time, they were curious to know when doomsday was, and they did! Doomsday will come on dec 21st 2012! close? VERY close. The mayas think that on that very date, a very rare astrological phenomenon which occur every 2000+ years will happen. Our sun would be aligned with center of the milky way, and the earth would be in the middle of them.

According to the Mayans, when this happens, it would open a gate way in the center of the milky way to the netherworld. and someone or some group, i forgot, will descend upon earth. It happened to the Mayans before. That someone or some group challenged the mayans to a game. a game very similar to that of basketball and soccer. The ball could only be touched with ur hip and ur knee. and you have to get that ball through a stone hoop high up on a wall. This kinda represents the sun going through the center of the milky way.

But some of the most important information were burnt by the spanish.

However, According to scientists, they say that when the alignment happens, the earth's poles with shift. the north pole will become the south and vice versa. when that happens, the earth's magnetic field will change and will cause mass destruction on earth. volcano eruptions, tsunamis, earthquakes, EVERYTHING!

Sounds unlikely? scientists say that it HAS happened before. the earth's poles has shifted 4 times before and it WILL happen again.

The mayan calendar divides time into katuns. or cycles. Each katun has a period, after a katun has past, another katun will continue. our current katun is 1993-2012. 2012 again? the previous katuns ended and the next katun continues. but they say that this current katun will end in destruction on dec 21st 2012.

but all these do raise some questions like:

Since we know this, why aren't we doing anything about it? Why are we focusing on global warming?
If the mayans could predict stuff, why didn't they predict their mistake? and that they'd die?
If the mayans did predict that, does it mean that we can never escape the cold hard truth?
If the earth poles did shift before, why didn't the earth face massive destruction?
As mentioned, time was predicted according to previous events. and the 21st dec 2012 doomsday is also according to the previous phenomenon. But what if, this katun won't have to end like the before? What if, this katun would just end normally, and the next katun follows?
Why are scientists focusing so much on figuring out if the prophecy is really true? shouldn't they be focusing on how to prevent it? i mean rather be safe than sorry, what if it turns out to be true, once they figured that out, kong pa yi qie jiu tai chi le.
Why isn't everyone aware of this? shouldn't everyone have the right to be in the know? Our world as we know it, is at stake here!
Are the recent hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis! (speaking of tsunamis, one happened ytd) signs of the end nearing?

2012, dec 21st. A date that should be feared.5 more years to go, let's see what happens...

U know how everything is planned out, fate? well, coincidental or planned for, right after ytd's exposure to that amazing documentary, today i had this art workshop.

It was for "clean and green singapore." we had to do a painting concerning the environment. aye...global warming, doomsday, environment, linked??? perhaps, perhaps...

well...our masterpieces will be exhibited at bishan park. so do go down there, on Nov 3rd?
