Getting The Low Down Down Under
In about 30 hours, I'd be flying off to Aussie, Adelaide. Wow, time sure pasts fast. What first seemed eons away is now just a night's sleep away. Kinda already miss home!
It's a school-organized Sports Tour. This year, the Track and Field Team is upping the budget to go to Aussie! Surprisingly, the attendance is better!
I just returned from gift-shopping for my Host Family and the Students in Henley High School - a rather cumbersome chore.
Wanna get a feel of how many gazillion of people there are in China? Just go to Chinatown - It's as if the world has shrunk!
But it's still well known for what it's for: shops, shops and more shops. We were there with something with the Singaporean or Asian Essence in mind, so that narrows down our search.
After a gruelling hustle and jostle amidst the fast-paced crowd, we managed to excavate some of Chinatown's finest antique shops. But of course, we didn't buy the expensive antiques, just 2 small, intricate, well embellished porcelain opera masks, that thing you hang on the wall to keep letters and a small plate with Singapore's landmarks for display.
Finally, the burden of not having a gift is off my mind.
